When I received it however I could tell that it was cheaply made (In China) and the metal part is obviously plated with something, It doesn't appear to be solid stainless steel, in fact whatever it is is already flaking off to reveal another metal underneath and that's after one use. It seems to work fine as a tenderizer but it doesn't seem like long before it falls apart and will these metal flakes end up in our food?Update: I was unhappy with this item so I contacted the manufacture, Boston Warehouse, while customer service has been very helpful, they did confirm that this item is NOT stainless steel but instead plated aluminum, I would not have purchased has I known that it was cheaply made aluminum rather than stainless steel as originally advertised. Final update: I am happy to see that Amazon has updated the description to show that this item is actually aluminum. Boston...
