My mother inlaw got ahold of this somewhere a year or so ago. I love this seasoning. i use on lots of stuff not just fajita. its good on hambergers,steak, shrimp etc. when grilling its a must have. be careful though it does have a lot of pepper but i love spicy.

Usually I use the regular Adolph's meat marinade, but since I was preparing dinner for mostly elderly people, who are concerned about sodium, I marinaded 12 pounds of beef rump roast in this marinade. The meat was very flavorful and tender. I have used Adolph's meat marinade for years, both regular and sodium-free, with great results.

I happened upon this idea while at a local bookstore. I was having problems with my labs coming in from outside stinking and drooling and everything else that goes with the disgusting behavior of what is known as coprophagia-Poo-eating. So, I started by buying the real small little bottles of tenderizer, wetting the food down, and then pouring on 1-2 tsp of tenderizer over the top. The problem immediately seemed to settle down (although it does pick up in the winter for the poop-sicles). Anyway, this is definately the way to go to save a few dollars and not have to keep running to the store, buying them out of tenderizer. And, it does not contain MSG which is of added benefit. Who knows what that does to a doggie's tummy?

I purchased this item because it looked cute and it looked like good quality. When I received it however I could tell that it was cheaply made (In China) and the metal part is obviously plated with something, It doesn't appear to be solid stainless steel, in fact whatever it is is already flaking off to reveal another metal underneath and that's after one use. It seems to work fine as a tenderizer but it doesn't seem like long before it falls apart and will these metal flakes end up in our food?

Update: I was unhappy with this item so I contacted the manufacture, Boston Warehouse, while customer service has been very helpful, they did confirm that this item is NOT stainless steel but instead plated aluminum, I would not have purchased has I known that it was cheaply made aluminum rather than stainless steel as originally advertised.

Final update: I am happy to see that Amazon has updated the description to show that this item is actually aluminum. Boston... Read more

My 27 year old son in law borrowed my meat pounder and was very sad when I took it back. He LOVED what he could do with it. I promised I would get him, his very own "fun" one. Everyone thought that would be impossible- to find a "fun" meat pounder, but I found this one on amazon and he was really excited to get it for christmas!

I was impressed that it was well made and heavy enough- I thought it might be like a childs and very light weight-but it was the perfect weight.

I bought this so that I could make my own schnitzel but am always looking for neat and fun looking everyday kitchen items. This item is very fun looking but is also very functional as it has a good weight to it and I was able to tenderize and pound my schnitzel very thin, just the way I like it.
